"Memories of San Francisco" is Luz' most famous painting.
Painted in 1983, a limited edition lithograph on archival paper was also created that year and sold to collectors throughout the world through a major art publisher. The original painting was not offered for sale until 2008 and was purchased during the first exhibition in which it was displayed at a record price. The painting now resides in an important private collection in San Francisco.
For many years, Luz has desired to issue a deluxe edition of the image on artist's canvas. Since the original is painted in oil on canvas, she felt that the special qualities of the painting would be best represented in this manner.
This has now been accomplished and the deluxe edition is available for sale! The painting is beautifully captured on canvas in the same size as the original painting: 24" x 36" The result is virtually identical to the painting! It's truly spectacular. The print looks exactly like an original oil!
The painting depicts the San Francisco skyline viewed from Sausaltio as it appeared in 1983. In this spectacular and charming scene, the viewer experiences the lights of the city coming on as the city comes to life for the night. At the same time, the bayside homes of Sausalito begin to prepare for the restful fall of evening. The painting reflects the view as seen from the boardwalk behind Sally Stanford's reknowned restaurant on the Sausalito waterfront.
The edition is strictly limited to only 25 numbered limited edtion prints on canvas, plus five artist proofs.
The beginning price is only $1,500 unframed for the first few collectors to add Memories of San Francisco to their collection. All artwork is signed by Luz and numbered. Framing can be quoted to your specifications as well.
